Busy Busy Bee

Happy rainy evening everyone:

Life could be worse - got out of work at a decent hour, sitting in a coffee shop, and giving you guys an update on things - all while listening to R.E.M.'s performance from their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction. The version they did of "Gardening At Night" is enough of a reason to listen - trust me.

So, bottom line - I've been busy creating a lot of new work. most of which has been posted to my website - www.sirinsky.com (for those of you who still don't have it bookmarked, what are you waiting for?) But, I thought I'd post a few examples here, and tell you a little about each one - something I don't typically do on my website).

Shot this one at Fells Point in Baltimore, MD. Turned out as well as I could have possibly hoped. Straight from the camera...one of my favorite "straight" images that I've shot in years.

Can't remember specifically where I shot this one...but definitely on one of my many short driving excursions over the past several months. Turned out pretty decent I think...should fit in nicely with the new body of work.

And now, the star of the show (at least in my view). I'm pretty pleased with this one - the colors are much more punchy online - it's a little more neutral in person, but I'm really enjoying this image. It was created from a straight b/w - not a duotone, and the effect worked quite nicely in this case if I do say so myself. I shot this in South Carolina a month or so ago - and it's now the new image on my home page.

I have a few more I'm working on as well. This was also the first time I tried this photo lab out by me. And I have to say that, overall, this was the best batch of scans I've gotten back from a lab since I started this body of work over 8 years ago. I think it was a particularly good roll, which helped - but they did a great job. I definitely see myself becoming a repeat customer.

So, what do y'all think? Feedback and suggestions are always welcome of course...

More new images on the way. In the meantime, stay tuned, stay cool and stay safe.

Word.
